The Chi Hair Straightener is super simple to use. It’s easy for beginners and great for professionals.

First start with fully dry hair. If you wish for more body, start with freshly cleaned and blown dry hair. Before using the chi hair straightener prep your hair with any of your favorite hair products. Keep in mind that using hair care products that are especially made for heated tools work the best.

Next, simply plug it in, allow 30 seconds to a minute for it to heat up. Start by parting and then clipping small sections at the nape of the hair line. The thinner the sections you use, the more straight your hair will become because the heat can penetrate the entire section.

Hold the first strand, starting near the root of your hair. Get as close as you can to your roots without touching your scalp. With a steady medium-firm grip, glide the chi hair straightener down the strand of hair. Be sure not to grip the chi hair straightener too firmly as it’s not necessary. Plus, you may create a kink in your hair. Also, if you grip it too tightly you may pull your hair. Just let the heat straighten it for you. Work from left to right or vice versa. Once the first section is straightened all the way across, it’s time to continue up onto the next section. Repeat the process until you have gone completely up and around your entire head. Be extra careful around your ears, the perimeter of your hairline and your forehead.

At first it may be time consuming. Expect it to take some time and allow extra time for styling. But, remember, once you do it more often you will get better and become much faster. So take your time in the beginning. If you have any further questions you should consult your hairstylist. They should be willing to give you a brief demonstration if you are having trouble.

With vintage hairstlyes coming back in-style and in high demand, you should consider the ease of having a chi hair straightener. The first appearance of styled straight hair was in the 70’s. That was when the first conair blow dryer was introduced. The extra long straight hair first appeared. The poor ladies of the past were forced to fight curl and frizz with their extremely hot household irons. To achieve their look they would lay their head down on an ironing board and use an iron to iron out the waves, kinks, curls and frizz. This caused more damage than it was worth. Fortunately for us “ironing” or straightening hair using the chi hair straightener doesn’t involve an actual iron. Today we have several small, hand held, electrical straightening tools. If you love the long straight looks from the past, You can use the chi hair straightener to replicate and bring back the long stick straight styles. The fabulous long straight locks are becoming all the rage and are now created easily using a chi hair straightener. These past styles have been sweeping through this generation. To replicate and accomplish these retro straight styles be sure to use a ceramic straightener so your hair won’t be damaged as easliy. Just think how every house hold would have been envious of you for owning the Chi Hair Straightener. And remember it’s about freedom and creating your individual style.

A quick how to on the “hippy style”: Start with Blow drying all of your hair using a large paddle brush. Be sure to use your favorite straightening serum. The chi hair straightener works well with the chi hair serum. Once all of your hair is dry, start at the nape of your neck, work your way up and straighten small sections to the top of your head. Be careful around your hairline as the straightener gets very hot. Remember to part your hair down the middle. You may garnish your locks with a freshly picked daisy or a pretty side braid to add a touch of romance for your new free spirited look.
